Artist Statement

The painting process records the action of the hand in the most direct and intimate manner. it is a permanent imprint of human energy today as it has been in the past.

The context of my work is based upon a response to a wide range of energy systems that impact our lives. They can be forces of nature or the many systems that we have created in this technological era.

My images are worked via addition and subtraction that allow the viewer to contemplate meaning and reference. It is an abstract response to a temporal and ever-changing landscape.
